Everyday Athlete

With Chicago North Shore Kinetics Owner Kay Min
New series start Sunday, April 19 and Thursday, April 23

Using equipment such as free weights, kettlebells, weight plates, barbells, pull-up bars, TRXs, sandbags, medicine balls, etc. and most importantly, your bodyweight, we will work on progressive loading for building strength and generating explosive power. Attention to form and technique will be paramount to optimal and healthy joints, muscles, bones, and nervous system.

We will always start these 55-60 minute classes with mobility warm-ups for about 10-15 min (these are not necessarily easy stretches, some are quite a bit of work!), then move into lower body, upper body, trunk (aka “core”) stability, rotation, loading, and possibly some cardiovascular segments and a quick cool-down.

Pricing: $50 per class, sign up for individual classes

Capacity: 5 minimum and 10 maximum

more About your trainer Kay Min

Kay Min’s interest in all things physical and active began with her love of running, and her curiosity and pursuit of excellence led her to explore and master boxing, rowing, adventure racing, and eventually Pilates and the Gyrotonic Expansion System . In addition to running a successful technology consulting firm, she quietly began to build her reputation as a highly effective personal trainer during her “off-hours”. Kay sold her firm and left the corporate world in 2008 to pursue a long-term desire of operating her own studio–Chicago Northshore Kinetics–and growing her bodywork practice.

Kay is a Movement Educator and lists as her credentials certification in Pilates, the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM , including GYROKINESIS  and all the specialized equipments.  She is a GYROTONIC   Pre-trainer and has received training in GYROTONIC  therapeutic applications and courses targeted to golfers and dancers, and has also undergone training in Level 2 GYROTONIC .

A native Chicagoan, Kay graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston and is certified through NASM, Original Strength, and TRX.
