muscles & mobility
new 6-week series starts the week of march 2!
Tuesdays & thursdays, 6:00-6:50AM, fridays @ 10:00-10:50am - DROP IN ONLY
Build stronger muscles and healthier joints in this progressive, well-rounded program. Each 50-minute session starts with targeted mobility drills to prep you for the strength work ahead, helping you lift safely and move more efficiently. After six weeks, you’ll feel freer in your body — whether at the gym, wrangling kids, tackling stairs, or hiking the Valle de Cocora in Colombia. Some prior experience with strength training is recommended.
TUESDAY & THURSDAY INFO:
Ideal for: Those ready to make strength training the backbone of their routine.
With a higher weekly training volume and more frequent exposure to progressive lifts, this option allows for faster gains in strength, skill, and confidence. Many participants build the rest of their movement around these two sessions.
Start date: Tuesday, March 3rd
End date: Thursday, April 9th
Time: 6:00-6:50AM
Class size: 8 people max
FRIDAY SESSION INFO:
Ideal for: Those who already move regularly — walking, running, yoga, or occasional strength training — and want a structured, progressive strength session to round out their current routine.
This option provides a foundational weekly training dose and clear direction, helping you build strength with proper form, without overhauling your existing regimen.
Start date: Friday, March 6th
End date: Friday, April 10th
Time: 10:00-10:50AM
Class size: 8 people max
Cost: $270, which includes six 50-minute classes.

Q. What if I sign up and have to miss a class? Can I make it up?
A. Since these are not one-off fitness classes but, rather, a 6-week program you are committing to, there is no pro-rating or refunds for missed classes. However, there is a possibility of a “make-up” in one of the other classes I’m currently running provided space is available on the day/time you’d like to attend.
Q. I’d love to sign up, but I know I can’t make every single class – is there any way for me to pay to attend some, but not all?
A. Yes! I’ve set aside a couple of spots for “drop-ins” priced at $50 per class. Just let me know which classes you’re able to attend, and if there’s space, I’ll reserve your spot.
Q. Can I get a refund if, after attending some classes, I decide it’s not for me?
A. For those who’ve never attended one of my classes, I offer a two-class trial – if you attend the first two classes and decide it’s not your thing, I’ll refund you for the remaining classes.
Q. Where will the classes be held?
A. At TruFit's group training studio, located at 1526 Chicago Ave. in Evanston!
About your trainer
Sarah Laspas is the founder of Muscles and Moxie, LLC, where she helps people recovering from pain or injury get their bodies back to doing what they want, when they want.
Created in 2017, her Evanston-based business bridges the gap between rehab and fitness, offering a more thoughtful approach to exercise—one where movement quality matters and feeling strong and capable is the point.
Her mission is simple: add life to your years through FUNction-focused training that makes consistency feel easy.
Sarah is a certified strength, mobility, and gait specialist and pain-free performance coach. Her clients range from those rebuilding after setbacks—such as stroke recovery, spinal fractures, and chronic issues others “couldn’t fix”—to people seeking functional strength for big adventures (Everest Basecamp, anyone?), as well as anyone who just wants to move more easily day-to-day.
She’s an “elder” Millennial living in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, where she shamelessly babies her two rescue pups, practices Muay Thai for fun (her coach keeps pushing her to compete; she prefers to stay uninjured and employed), and maintains a lifelong vendetta against olives—yes, ALL olives—despite being married to a Greek.
